Germany’s leading networking platform for all BIM stakeholders is expanding

BIM World, the number one industry event in Germany for Building Information Modeling, is already presenting – with exactly 6 months to go before the fair kicks off – some very promising figures regarding the upcoming event. “Exhibition booths are currently 80% sold-out” confirms Dr. Josef Kauer, president of the BIM World. “We offer a platform, where all collaborators of the AEC industry can develop the right approach in order to master the challenges of the future,” adds Kauer, very enthused by the branch’s hugely positive feedback.

Along with the two-day international conference and the forum open to all visitors, BIM World will introduce the top trends and hot topics about the digitalization of the building industry, thus creating an important drive towards the integration of BIM at a larger scale. Multinational construction companies and medium-sized architectural firms will present their national and international achievements focused on both building and infrastructure projects. Another integral part of the conference presentations is the launch and positioning of new innovative technologies for the construction sector, with a focus on how the internet of Things has transformed the industry: from intelligent machine control and smart tools for construction sites to mobile technologies for 3D interior surveying. Open workshops will provide attendees with informative and highly practice-oriented overviews of multiple BIMrelated subjects: How do I start with BIM? What is the legal situation and what conditions should I be aware of? How does BIM revolutionize the operation of buildings? By what means is the urban development of cities affected by the collaboration of GIS and BIM?

Leading companies and partners of the BIM World such as Bentley, Autodesk, Trimble, Nemetschek, BIMobject, Archibus, and also buildingSMART, along with 80 other exhibitors will provide the visitors of the largest BIM fair in Central Europe with answers about what can already be achieved with BIM and what we can expect to become standard in the near future.

About the BIM World MUNICH

BIM is currently a hot topic all around the world. Building Information Modeling (BIM) implies the complete digitalization of buildings and infrastructure projects through the management of an intelligent numerical Model of the construction project, in which all things (Internet of Things) are digitally integrated and where the virtual collaboration of all stakeholders involved in the project is supported by the model throughout the whole lifecycle of the building or infrastructure project.

After a very successful premiere in 2016, the BIM World Munich is returning for a second year in a row. The event will enable a broad spectrum of participating experts (more than 80 exhibitors and 60 top-level conference speakers) from the entire digital value-added chain to gather and exchange ideas and knowledge about BIM. Held on November 28th and 29th in the ICM (Internationales Congress Centrum München), the event is expected to attract more than 3000 visitors from over 22 countries.
