Munich, December 2, 2019. On the 26th and 27th of November 2019, the International Congress Center Munich turned into the digital hub for innovators, digital enthusiasts, unconventional thinkers and tech experts in the construction, real estate and urban planning. This year, more than 6500 visitors found their way to the largest event in DACH for the digitalization of the construction and real estate industries. New digital technologies, innovative ideas, vivid exchange, exciting discussions and international discourse: at the BIM World MUNICH 2019, the major players in the construction industry agreed on the actual implementation of BIM: “No talks, just actions!”.
Over 200 exhibitors presented during two days on the doubled exhibition area their latest IT- and IoT-applications, smart products and innovative services for planning, construction, facility management and urban development. On three Congress Stages and in the open forums, more than 200 leading experts and young tech entrepreneurs reported on the achievements in the industry and introduced their new user-oriented solutions. Digitalization in construction is on the rise, and the BIM World MUNICH has once again proved itself as a leading platform for all industry players involved.
Dieter Babiel, Managing Director of the German Construction Industry Association, presented the roadmap in digital planning and construction for the Society of Tomorrow. Internationally leading experts and companies expressed their visions and showed the Best-Practice-Examples for BIM.
The BIM Town and the Smart Building / Smart Construction Innovation World Cup® Series were a central part of BIM World MUNICH 2019. 40 finalists from more than 230 international submissions pitched their innovative solutions for Construction, Real Estate, Smart City and Environment at the BIM Town Innovation Stage. The high-level jury evaluated the start-ups live on site in the semi-finals and selected the top finalists BIMspot, Building Radar, DABBEL, Holobuilder and pbb, who then stood on the main stage in the final. The winner was Christoph Degendorfer with his Proptech start-up BIMspot.
Dietmar Bernert, the new President of the BIM World MUNICH, states satisfied: “I am with the BIM World since the early beginning. I had a lot of discussions with the exhibitors here. They all together had the feedback: We will definitely come back. We are very happy with the audience, and with the frequency of the people that showed up. And they had detailed questions. This is the advantage compared to other events: very qualified attendees. They know exactly what they want. They come with dedicated questions. They want to have solutions NOW. They are ready to buy things here from the exhibitors. I see also a growing spirit from the community. There are new people attached to us. We are a lot of rhinoceroses here trying to build up things for 25 years. We see now young dynamic people joining us. And this growing spirit is really great. It was also reflected in the BIM Town and the Smart Construction Innovation World Cup with a lot of brilliant start-ups. What is also amazing. People were queuing to get into the sessions. So there is a big demand in creating even more technical sessions”.
The BIM World MUNICH 2020 will take place on 24 and 25 November 2020 at the ICM in Munich.
