Buzzwords everywhere: CO2 shadow prices, taxonomy & ESG

How can digitalization accelerate the transition to sustainable construction? What are the challenges of data availability and validation? And how do politics, industry and science need to work together to develop realistic and feasible solutions for Net Zero?

Answers to these questions were discussed by moderator Johannes Kreißig (DGNB) with Thomas Kirmayr (Mittelstand-Digitalzentrum Bau), Fajli Bibi (Global Centre of Excellence in Sustainability) and Jens Glöggler (ATP Sustain) at the last BIM World MUNICH.

Particular emphasis was placed on the need to use digitalization not only for reporting, but above all to optimize sustainable processes. While the collection and use of data for existing buildings is often still a challenge, AI-supported technologies offer new possibilities for modeling and analysis. Stronger cooperation between politics, industry and science is essential in order to develop practicable solutions and to link regulatory requirements with the needs of practice in a meaningful way.
