BIM4RealEstate: The future of the real estate industry between sustainability and transformation

How do ESG criteria and digitalization influence the value stability of real estate? What role do data and networked planning play in sustainable use? And how can the real estate industry deal with economic and regulatory challenges?

Moderator André Eberhard (immobilienmanager) discussed these questions with Benjamin Slosharek (KVL Bauconsult), Frank Schröder (PHOENIX CONTACT Electronics), Dr. Kevin Meyer (Midstad Advisory), Monika Preithner (LBImmoWert) and Hallgjerd Caroline Jüngling (Real I.S.) at the CAFMWORLD congress stage at BIM World MUNICH 2024.

The focus was on the increasing importance of ESG as a value driver in the real estate industry. While sustainability was often considered a theoretical concept in the past, it is now a decisive factor for the long-term value of existing properties. At the same time, it is clear that a lack of data transparency and insufficient networking between planning, operation and valuation remain key challenges. The digital twin can serve as a future-proof solution here by efficiently mapping the entire life cycle of properties and facilitating decision-making.
